Being an embarrassing mum- sit ups in class

Have spent the full day in school with the boys, half day each, one thinks mum is more than totally embarrassing and the other one thinks she is cool, I prefer to trust the oldest one!

Reason behind their judgement - I did sit ups in their classrooms to get up to my 200 a day motto. I have this PT, who at this stage only exists in my dreams, who tells me to do 200 a day to get in shape for beach 2011!!!

So there I was in my youngest son’s class, in what is called “the show room” and it was free play.  Free play in school, how leisure is that, what happened to “ordnung must sein”? I tried to have them do sit ups and play they were at a gym class, what happens? My son tells me to leave the room, he wants to see his girlfriend dance instead. I was more than naive to think it was all about me. Hello he is 6 years old!

Told my oldest son the story when I came to his classroom and he immediately goes “please mom show us as well”. So when the teachers left for a few minutes I took the opportunity to show the whole class how to do sit ups. Son was very pleased with his mom showing off but not pleased with the sit ups “you don’t go high up enough mom”…shut up is all I can say!

How to do the right cheek kissing?

Right to the left? Left to the right? Two kisses? Three kisses? How do you do it without hiting each others nose?

But honestly Tessi how difficult can this procedure be? I clearly need some guidelines so please point me in the right direction to get this right before the next meeting. This is not same same but different...this is different full stop....I am not used to this kissing procedure.....I'm not saying i dislike just that I'm not used to it!

Leaving the land of the frogs and say thank you for giving me 15 degrees spring feeling during a lovely night walk from L'arc de Triopmhe to Louvren yesterday and an excellent dinner. The city was beautiful and full of life - will we get spring in Lund?

Leaving the land of the Marsians as well, only for three days though, with a mixture of feeling really good and greatful for their warmth and cheerful welcomeing but also very tired after trying to understand new acronyms, a new business area as well as trying to contribute to the discussions without understanding the overall picture!

In the land of frogs and Marsians

Flight down - sitting beteeen one frog with hangover smelling garlic and one girl trying hard to be 'the girl with the dragontatoo', getting à taxi driver screaming merde for 1 hour - should this be the sign of my day?

Walking into the conference room my legs were shaking and yes i was really nervous, interupted the presenter with "hej hej" just my way of getting into the center of attention!

During the meeting i kept thinking 'same same but different', same topics, same challenges and yet ofcourse different environment and perspectives. There will be many opportunities to share experience and to learn new ways of working. What's the team like then? I have laughed many times today which to me is soooo important so that will conclude todays evalution!

Now time for a walk from L'arc de triopmhe to Louvren!

Same same but different

Same airport, same flight time, same lounge with exactly the same snack as it has been the last 12 years, same Tessi i think, yet so different.... Different destination - Manchester and Wilmington you will miss me - now I'm heading towards Mars or was it Paris with Mars? Am I a Marsman, read Alien, now or maybe a Marsipan? As long as I'm not a Marsbar it will do for now!

Reflection for now - and for those of you who know me it's not a puke bag where I normally write my reflections as there are non here in the lounge - why are there only 5% females in this lounge? Anyone with a good answer let me know.

Spring in Paris?

Life on Mars?

Is there really life on Mars?  What if, what is Mars life like then? Aliens? Chocolate craters? Pet food stores? Shall we assume there are pets on Mars?  I didn't even think there was water!

No matter what type of life there is on Mars, I'm attracted to it yet very nervous going on this first Mars trip. The bag is packed, the right clothes (hopefully) is picked and I'm flying out in the morning.

End of a great adventure

February 23rd 2011 first day I'm writing a blog outside the AZ world, how strange is that but let's see how it goes!

September 1997, that’s the day I started my AstraZeneca journey, wow it is a very long time ago! Had just returned home after travelling around in Asia and Australia for six months, entered the door to AstraDraco as a young somewhat naive girl on 25, no real work experience but being humble Tessi, I probably thought I had lots of experience and knew everything about life and Human Resources.

February 2011 leaving AstraZeneca as a mature, at least slightly more, young girl on 38 with lots of experience, a marvelous development, a great network of highly professional and fantastic people, lots of great memories and knowing now I do not know everything about life and HR. I am so pleased with my years in AstraZeneca, grateful for all the opportunities I have been given and happy for all relationships I have built. THANK YOU!

What's next - a new challenge, a new adventure in a different industry with products not only for us but for our cats and dogs as well. Many have asked what my drive behind the decision was and here is part of the truth, it was time to change from drugs to chocolate - products I could not resist. Your concern for me and a potential gain of weight is touching and thank you for giving me yoga math, training clothes, Pilates ball, books about training...shall I also start to worry? I will keep you posted about increase...or why not decrease?
